Here is my most recent painting that I was working on at the art demo at the Bideford Parsonage. It is oil on 11x14 stretched canvas. It depicts the round bales of hay and lupins. I will work on finishing it at my next painting demonstration.
Creating Clouds
Here are a few tips from a video that I watched by artist Tim Gagnon
Use cool colors to create the contours and give shape and dimension to your clouds. Then use warmer/lighter colors to create the highlights. Start with cooler colors and put warmer colors on top.
Use some sky color in your shadows and create well defined shadows to show depth. Know where your light source is coming from and create cooler shadows.
Soften your edges using some of your sky color. Go in with the sky color and with the tip of the brush go around the edges to blend into the sky. This will eliminate the sharp edges
