Even the Grinch has to get ready for Christmas. This is one of the themes I offer for Christmas paint nights. It is always lots of fun getting together with friends to do something completely different. My participants always surprise themselves in what they can do. I have a surprise for you!! In the Studio
Busy time in the studio. I am completing two commission paintings for clients. I like working on two at a time so one gets time to dry in between sessions. I will show you in the new year how they turned out. They are both Christmas surprise presents for love ones.
Most Recent Work
The Dory is complete. So happy to attend a painting class by Susan Christensen. It was all about values and painting with only three colors; red, blue and yellow and adding white where needed.
Tips for the Artist in You
I am working on two commissions and what I have found helped me is to draw it out on a large piece of paper to get the dimensions and placement correct.
With one painting, I was working on four different photos and had to incorporate them into one painting. This way I could move the pieces around to see where they best fit. I also drew nine equal squares on the paper to help with the placement.

Lenny By the Tree
My day to babysit and it took a few trys, but I got a picture of Lenny by the tree. I was surprised he didn't go near it, too busy with his tractor. Christmas is so special when there are little ones around.
