Some roads lead somewhere special - and on Prince Edward Island, the best ones often lead to the sea. There is something unmistakably PEI about a red dirt road winding through green fields, colourful wildflowers and gentle coastal grasses before opening onto the blue waters of the Island. “Where the Red Road Leads” captures that feeling of anticipation - the quiet invitation to follow the road and see what awaits at the shore.
Inspired by the landscapes I love to photograph and paint here on Prince Edward Island, this original oil painting celebrates the Island's distinctive red soil, rolling countryside and beautiful coastline. The lupins and wildflowers add a touch of summer colour, while the winding road draws you into the scene and toward the water. This painting found a new home in Moncton, New Brunswick.
