Valentine's Day is fast approaching and as an appreciation for being a part of my journey, I plan to give a 5x7 print to one lucky winner. Random draw to take place February 14th. Good luck to you!
In the Studio Well I'm running between my studio and the television watching the Olympics and trying to get some painting in. These Olympics are extra special to us this year because our son Morgan is a part of the men's hockey team. We watched the opening ceremonies and he facetimed us from there. Lots of excitement and some very proud moments! What struck me about the opening of the Olympics was the magical feeling that it left me with, seeing all the choregraphed displays. And that is what I try to give when creating my paintings 'a feeling' when you look at my paintings.
Tips for the Artist in You
Yes, feeling is an important part of painting. The feeling that you have as an artist when you are creating the piece. Then the feeling that you want to portray to the viewer.
We can learn so much by looking at other artists' work. So take the time to really look and see how they paint the motion of the water, moodiness of the skies, etc. What feeling do you get when you look at their work?

Most Recent Work
I finished working on the 2x3 foot landscape oil painting. I lightened it up quite a bit from my reference photo as I wanted to have the mood of a sunny day. Hope you like it. The view is from the banks of Green Park, Prince Edward Island. I haven't decided on a name for it. Perhaps, you could help me with that. What would you name it? Drop me an email with your suggestions. If you have a favorite photo that you would love to see in a painting, email me. I would be very pleased to work on creating your memories on canvas for you to enjoy.
