Summer is Time With Family and Friends

Our Family pictures were recently taken. I am so very proud of my family. They truly mean the world to me. Recently my father-in-law passed away, an exceptional man in our lives. We were all very close to him and will miss him dearly. He leaves behind some great memories and stories.

In the Studio I was fortunate to participate in the Arts Festival in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. It was a beautiful, but windy day on the grounds of the Lefurgey Cultural Centre. Three hours of painting, seeing old friends, being with fellow artists and interacting with the public was a great experience.

I took the hay bales and lupin painting to work on. It is a slow process trying to get all the shades of green right, but I am getting there.

Tips for the Artist in You

Getting your name out there is important for the growth of your art.

  • Take in some art demos and see how other artists set up their displays and work while interacting with the public.

  • Try to participate in a demo or arts festival yourself.

  • Start with something local and build from there.

  • Join art groups. There are very knowledgeable fellow artists who are more than willing to help you along your art journey.

  • Most importantly is practice your painting to improve and build your portfolio.
